This is the second page in what is fast becoming a series of days out pages. Myself and my wife Mary like to go out for the day or perhaps a short weekend when the time off and money will let us. It does Mary good to get out of the house, and does me good to have a nice drive, and take some photos of new places.
This first one on this page is about the weekend we have just had in Somerset. It was our 37th Anniversary on the 20th December 2007, and we decided to celebrate with a weekend away. One of Mary's favourite singers, Curtis Magee was singing at a club in Puriton near Taunton, which is only just over a hours drive away.
So we thought that we would combine the weekend with tickets to see him in action. While we were there, we drove to the Fleet Air Arm museum in Yeovilton about 20 miles away. Fleet Air Arm Museum
Most of the photos were taken there. The great majority if the ones I took in the club did not come out due to the poor lighting. To see photos taken that weekend, Click on the Helicopter.

I have recently found a set of photos that I had forgotten about. They are from a day out we had last year at the Royal Welsh Show in mid Wales. This was a great hot day, and I took a lot of photos. To see them click on the horse

This next one is the first of the days out in 2007. Easter this year, and the weather was lovely and warm, so we decided to have a day out in Longleat. For those who have never been there or never heard of it, the link is here Longleat.
This incredible place with its 128 rooms that was completed in 1580 is well worth a visit, and the history on the web site is fascinating. As usual I took the camera along, and although most of the pictures were taken in the Safari park, there are some very nice ones that have been taken in the petting zoo and butterfly gardens. To see the photo album Click on the Monkey

The next day out in this section was to the British Horse show championships in the National Indoor Arena in Birmingham. I took a lot of photos as usual, but due to the poor indoor lighting a lot did not come out. However many did and I have put in a album for you to check it out Click on the horse below..

I then changed camera’s and have now upgraded to a Nikon D40. This is by far the best camera that I have ever owned and most of the next albums will have been made with this. I have made up a small trial album taken in Cardiff Bay. Please click on the link to check it out.
For the next one in this page, we have recently returned from a weekend in Somerset. I had won a competition to have a weekend in Pontin's and at first was going to let my son go instead. Well in the end he could not go so at the last minute we went instead.
I have to say that Pontin's like a lot of these places is not really good for wheelchair dependent people. The site is OK I suppose, but the rooms really are not good enough. The entertainment is mainly aimed of course at the youngsters but that was OK as we always go out during the day.
The main event this weekend was a visit to the Bath and West show near Shepton Mallet. A very nice day out and very hot and sunny. We both got quite sun burned. We went to Minehead the next day and that was a bit disappointing. It has gone very quite now with mainly brand new expensive flats on the front. For the photos of this weekend, click on the girl below.
I will make this the last in this series for now, but will add more as I go along.
