This is just about some days out that we have had recently. My camera comes everywhere as usual, and I wanted to record the days we have had out this year. The first one was in Weymouth in May 2006. I had a few days off, and we decided to take a few days away. We had already been to London, and you can find the album of photos taken there by clicking on bus and the next one was to the seaside town of Weymouth.

Why Weymouth? Well we had not been there for several years, and it is a nice run through the south west of the UK. Weymouth is about 130 miles from us, and took over three hours to get there. For some photos of the day, click on the sun bed for the photos.
It is a pretty little town, and a pleasant day out. We went to the well advertised sea aquarium for a look around as you will see in the photos. It was a bit disappointing I have to say, and all a bit small. The harbour was nice, and I took some photos of the boats there. All in all a pleasant day, but we will not be rushing back again.
After that on the 25th May we went to nearby Bristol Zoo. Bristol is only just over 30 miles from us and a easy run. We took our son Mark and his mate along for the day. Bristol Zoo is, by Zoo standards a small one. They are it seems always building something there. The last time they were building a penguin pool, and this time a monkey house. We had a good look around, and were finished within two and a half hours. All a bit small really. I did take some photos and they can be seen by clicking on the Lion.

I much prefer Chester Zoo, and I will put a link on the visit we had to that Zoo as well on this page. The only problem is that Chester is a good three to four hour fast drive from us, so only practical when you want a long day out. The album of photos that I took while there can be found here. Another album I have just added, is of a week in Cornwall that we went on October 2006. The area is stunning, with lovely scenery all around. Our only and major complaint was that many of the small towns and shops in them had made no effort to cater for the disabled visitor. We enjoyed the break, but because of that will not go back. The album of photos taken there can be found here. The Eden Project. Flambards. Days out in Cornwall.
A recent addition has been a album from a day out taken in June 2006. It was a scorching day, the sunniest so far this year, and I had the day off. So we traveled to Tenby in west Wales. I have not been there for years, and I had forgotten just how pretty this little town was. The beaches are spectacular, some of the best in the UK, miles of golden sands, and the town inside the 13th century walls that surround the place, is small and narrow and pretty. http://www.virtualtenby.co.uk/hist-vict.asp After that we went to nearby Saundersfoot a couple of miles away. Another small harbour town, that shares the lovely beaches of it's neighbour. Just click on the link to see the photos taken there. Tenby Photos

For the next one, we went on two days out in June 2006 over one weekend. The first day was to a Motability road show in Kemble airfield not far from Swindon. Just on the edge of the Cotswolds area, it made for a lovely drive anyway. We looked at the cars and equipment, and I had a test drive of the two that we will be choosing from this year. For some photos of the day, click on the Moon over the tree.
For the second day, the weather was still lovely, so we went to a Sunday market in Chepstow. Then after a walk around and lunch we drove into the pretty Wye Valley, http://www.wyevalleyaonb.org.uk/ I had my camera, and took lots of photos of this area of outstanding natural beauty. to view some photos of the trip click on the link. Cotswold Photos.
The next in this series of days out, was when we went to Stoke-on-Trent for the day. We took our son Mark and his mate to Alton Towers, then went into Stoke after dropping him off. We found a place called Trentham Gardens, a beautiful restored Italian Gardens. The photos in the album are from that day out. Click on the binoculars.

For the last of the days out on this page, I have put in a album taken from a trip to the West Midlands Safari park. It was a warm day, but not to sunny, so the animals were out and about. As my camera has a very good zoom on it, some of the pictures are very up close and personal. The first few with the birds were not taken there, but I have included them as well. Click on the Zebra.
